Your $20 admission ticket to The Taste of Texas includes the program with recipes, commemorative wine glass and 5 tickets to sample the Texas Wines presented. $25 admission will get you all of this and the commemorative beer glass.   Who:   Texas Chefs - six of the best in the Brazos Valley and surrounding area! Grand Prize is the People's Choice Award distinguishing a Chef as the best amongst his/her peers. What:   We are inviting six chefs to do cooking demonstrations of their mushroom recipes! Mushrooms must be a predominant ingredient. Chefs will provide a recipe for 4 - 6 people which will be printed in the 15th Annual Texas Mushroom Festival Guide, demonstrate their recipe during the festival, and prepare 500 samples of their recipe for volunteers to distribute to the audience. When:   Saturday, October 14, 2017 Where: The Texas Mushroom Festival Cooking Demonstration Tent is across the street from the Woodbine Hotel and Restaurant located two blocks north of the town square at 209 N Madison in Madisonville, Texas. Why: The Texas Mushroom Festival is dedicated to providing a unique cultural and educational experience for visitors by promoting our agricultural, culinary and fine arts. Madisonville is officially the Mushroom Capital of Texas and we have some of the finest culinary talent in the state within our reach! How: The Festival will provide all the food necessary to prepare the dish. The Chefs will be provided all the mushrooms needed from Monterey Mushrooms. The remainder of the ingredients should be acquired by each chef, but will be paid for by the Festival. Food will be delivered to your restaurant on the designated day. You should prepare the samples in advance and finish them the day of the festival on the cooking stage. The stage includes two 5 foot gas grills, 2 convection ovens, 2 gas burners, prep tables, refrigeration and cres cors. Chefs need to bring their own cooking utensils (pots, pans, sheet pans, utensils, bowls, cutting boards, knives, etc.) The Festival will provide the appropriate disposable serving plate, utensil and napkins for the samples.
