Greetings from Madisonville, the Texas home of Monterey Mushrooms, Inc.; and the recognized Mushroom Capital of Texas. We invite you to join us for the annual TEXAS MUSHROOM FESTIVAL on Saturday, October 13 2018. Last year's festival was a truly outstanding event and 2018 will be even better - maybe a little cooler? From humble beginnings in 2002, this festival has grown and evolved. New events have been added each year, and the numbers of attendees have increased to approximately 17,500 in 2017. The arts and crafts event, provided by our partner, M.A.R.I., features jewelry, accessories, decorative items, pottery, clothing, furniture, seasonal art, toys, and many types of food; to name only a few. This year's festival includes: mushroom cooking demonstrations by professional chefs, wine tasting, a car show, mushroom growing demonstrations, a quilt show, a 5k run/walk, a children's area, a photography contest, and musical entertainment. Additional events are being finalized for October. We invite you to reserve a booth at this year's festival. All booths will be outside, and you must provide all booth materials (tables, chairs, canopy, etc.). Please note that there are restrictions listed on the application form. Booth rental is $100.00 for a 10ft. X 10ft. curb side space with one side access. Corner booths or those down the middle of the street will have one or two additional open sides. There is a $25 fee for each additional side. Electricity, if needed, is $20/outlet used and is added to the cost of booth rental.
