Greetings from Madisonville, the Texas home of Monterey Mushrooms, Inc.; and the recognized Mushroom Capital of Texas. We invite you to join us for the sixteenth annual TEXAS MUSHROOM FESTIVAL on Saturday, October 14 2017. Last year's festival was a truly outstanding event and 2017 will be even better - maybe a little cooler? From humble beginnings in 2002, this festival has grown and evolved. New events have been added each year, and the numbers of attendees have increased to approximately 16,500 in 2016. The arts and crafts event features  jewelry, accessories, decorative items, pottery, clothing, furniture, seasonal art, toys, and many types of food; to name only a few. This year's festival includes: mushroom cooking demonstrations by professional chefs, wine tasting, a car show, mushroom growing demonstrations, a quilt show, a 5k run/walk, a children's area, a photography contest, a petting zoo, pony rides, and musical entertainment. Additional events are being finalized for October. We invite you to reserve a booth at this year's festival. All booths will be outside, and you must provide all booth materials (tables, chairs, canopy, etc.). Please note that there are restrictions listed on the application form. Booth rental is $100.00 for a 10ft. X 10ft. curb side space with one side access. Corner booths or those down the middle of the street will have one or two additional open sides. There is a $25 fee for each additional side. Electricity and water, if needed, are $20/outlet used and are added to the cost of booth rental. If you are a food vendor, you must have either a State of Texas or a Madison County Temporary Food Establishment Permit ($52 payable to Madison Co.) All vendors must have a Texas Sales and Use Tax Permit or proof of exemption.
